01 / THE ROLE
In this lab.
The database environment includes Adminer, pgAdmin, phpMyAdmin and RedisInsight. They are interfaces for examining or managing the relevant engines; they are not additional replacements for MySQL, PostgreSQL or Redis. Availability of a tool’s login screen does not establish access to a database.
02 / THE CONNECTIONS
Follow the flow.
- STEP 01Operator
- STEP 02Administration interface
- STEP 03Database connection
- STEP 04Selected engine
03 / How it works
How it works.
Adminer provides a compact database UI; pgAdmin focuses on PostgreSQL; phpMyAdmin on MySQL-compatible administration; RedisInsight on Redis. Actual operations depend on the selected connection and effective database permissions. Routine application traffic uses its own connection rather than passing through these tools.
04 / Persistent data & recovery
Persistent data & recovery.
Tool preferences and saved connection metadata may have their own persistent state. The actual business data belongs to the database engines. Recovering an administration container cannot substitute for recovering a lost database.
05 / How to check it
How to check it.
Validate the intended frontend, authentication boundary and the selected database connection separately. A generic HTTP success could even come from the wrong service. Production-changing database operations require the same review as other impactful changes.
06 / Decisions & limits
Decisions & limits.
These tools improve convenience but should not become an undocumented recovery dependency. Database access and recovery must remain understandable without assuming a particular web UI is available.
